Dr. Akash Deshpande

Office of the CTO, ARC International

"Multi-Standard Multimedia in Mobile Device"

"Next Generation System Design Platforms"

Akash has two decades of experience in the high-performance system software industry, with applications to network and multimedia system design. He was the founder, CTO, and director of Teja Technologies, a Silicon Valley startup that was formed based upon his fundamental research at UC Berkeley. Akash has published numerous peer-reviewed and invited papers, addressed and chaired industry conferences, and advised startups as well as established companies on their technology strategies. At ARC, Akash continues his interests in algorithms for low-power multimedia codecs, automata and graph theory, security, and system software. Akash received his Ph.D. in EECS from UC-Berkeley, M.S. in EECS from U-Florida, and BTech in EE from IIT-Bombay.

Dr. David Greaves

Faculty Member, University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory

"System Development Tools"

David received his Ph.D. from Cambridge on the subject of ATM metropolitan area networks.  His work experience includes research and engineering positions at numerous companies, including being the founder of Virata and the founder and chief scientist of Tenison. He currently is a technology advisor to companies such as AT&T, BT (British Telecommunications), and ARC International.  Today David is a faculty member and lecturer at Cambridge’s Computer Laboratory. He recently has been working on tools for advanced hardware description using logic programming and the HOL theorem prover, and is now applying these techniques to more general software system specification and co-design and the design of the ultimate ubiquitous system.
